Write a paragraph to describe the Pokémon Parasect.
Parasect is an interesting and cute Pokémon. It looks like an orange crab. It has a small head but two large white eyes that resemble two white light bulbs. There is a huge purple mushroom with yellow spots on its back. The mushroom is so big that it covers almost all its body. Parasect has three pairs of legs. The front pair are two large pincers. The other two pairs are much smaller than the front pair. It is fun to see Parasect crawling around.

Write a paragraph to describe this Lego clock.
Hanging from the wall is an unconventional Lego clock. It is built on a giant, golden baseplate at least 30 studs wide. In the middle lie the clock’s three black hands currently pointing at 11:13. Unlike a conventional clock, there are no numbers to show the hours. Instead, the hours are represented by an array of 12 Lego minifigures such as a red warrior, a black batman, and a white astronaut. What I find intriguing about this clock is the shadow it casts on the wall. It is larger than it would normally be. I guess the clockwork might be hiding behind the baseplate. If that is the case, the clock may actually be functional. Nonetheless, I am really impressed by this unique clock, especially the minifigures.

Write a paragraph to tell what happened in this clip of the tennis game.
It was undoubtedly the most unbelievable shot at the Mutua Madrid Open 2017. At first, Pablo Cueva’s opponent hit a short ball just over the net, causing Cuevas to dash forward and dive to return the ball. In contrary to how Cuevas thought the ball was going to be played, his competitor then hit an unexpected backhand shot that whizzed over Cuevas’ head and past him. Determined to save the ball, while scurrying back to the baseline, Cuevas took the risk and produced a no-look, behind-the-back shot. The unusual hit caught his opponent off guard. The player simply stood there totally stupefied without knowing how to react to the shot. Cuevas’ sensational no-look winner not only earned him the point, but also amazed the audience.

Does hard work lead to success? Write a paragraph to give your opinion.
Hard work is important, but to succeed, one needs more than hard work. Success is like a cake. To make a cake, you need flour, the basic ingredient. Without flour, you obviously cannot make a cake. However, you cannot make a cake only with flour. You still need other necessary ingredients, such as eggs, butter, and sugar. Similarly, hard work is the basic ingredient of success. Without hard work, one cannot succeed. Nevertheless, hard work alone cannot guarantee success. Other ingredients need to be present too, such as careful planning, related knowledge and skills, indispensable resources, and sometimes good luck. Only when those ingredients work together can one succeed. While working hard cannot guarantee success, it is guaranteed that one cannot succeed without hard work.

It seems like just a few years ago everybody was playing “Angry Birds.” However, nowadays you can hardly find anybody playing it. Write a paragraph to explain the reasons.
In my opinion, three things are at play in making Angry Birds lose favor. First of all, its short-lived popularity is determined by the nature of games. Games are fads. It is quite natural for them to shoot to fame overnight and then become obsolete overnight. Angry Birds is no exception. Second, the developer of the game has failed to add new features that are innovative enough to hold people’s attention. Despite its dozens of iterations, the core of the game remains unchanged. The players therefore have gotten bored with it. Last but not least, Angry Birds is the victim of fierce competition of the game industry. Its popularity is chipped away by a troop of new comers, first by Candy Crush Saga, then by Minecraft, and now by Fidget Spinner, just to name a few. For some, it is hard to see Angry Birds slip into oblivion, but out with the old and in with the new.
